

Soyla R. Cooper was born to parents Pedro and Rosa Robles (both deceased) on November 3, 1949 in San Antonio, Texas. She grew up along with three sisters Lucy Salas of San Antonio, Texas, Ersilia Kyle of Blue Springs, Mississippi and Minerva Gilmer of Lakeland, Florida and three brothers Tony Robles of San Antonio, Texas, Marcelo Robles of Southwest City, Missouri and Eliseo Robles who has preceded her in death.
Soyla married R. L. Cooper of Spearman, Texas who was serving in the US Army in Fort Riley, Kansas in 1966. The couple had two daughters Kimberly Douglass and Tammy Cooper. Soyla accompanied R. L. around the world living in several different countries and raising their two daughters in the international arena. They finally settled in Georgetown, Texas in 1998 where Soyla was very active in Children’s Bible Study (CBS) at Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown.
Soyla is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Douglass and Tammy Cooper both of Georgetown, Texas; five grandchildren, one of which Tristan Cooper of Midland Texas she raised as a son, Jonathan Kael Cooper of Odessa, Texas, Matthew Haines of Georgetown, Texas, Jordan Douglass and Aislinn Douglass both of Georgetown, Texas; and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both her parents and one brother.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 21, 2015 in the chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas.
