Stephan Vincent Crone, 48, of Georgetown, Texas passed away on the afternoon of September 24, 2021. He was born on December 20th, 1972 to Robert and Susan Crone. He grew up in South Austin and was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in the fall of 1986. He attended the L.B.J. Science Academy from 1986-1990 where he met his future wife, Teresa. After attending the University of Texas at Austin for a year, Stephan married Teresa on May 22, 1992. Stephan dedicated his life to his family from the beginning.
In 9 and a half years, Stephan and Teresa had 6 beautiful children who all take after their father. Stephan spent much of his time with his family, dedicating hours to coaching teams, supporting his children in their athletic, artistic, and academic endeavors, and restoring houses he bought with Teresa. He learned about and devoted himself to the interests of his family, falling in love with baseball in particular. As his sons started high school ball, Stephan created an entire homeschool baseball organization that placed his players in college programs.
While raising his family, Stephan worked in many fields, including Home Remodeling, Real Estate, The Texas Pension Review Board, and the Williamson Central Appraisal District. He entered the mission field in 2006, particularly impacted by his experiences in Brazil. In 2009, Stephan made the commitment to finish his degree at the University of Texas at Austin, graduating in 2011 with his B.A. in Economics. While at UT, Stephan mastered smoking meats in his grandfather’s smoker and became renowned for his barbecue. As his kids grew up and moved across the country, Stephan loved to roadtrip with Teresa to see them. When not visiting his children, Stephan enjoyed touring Texas for hikes, food, history, and landscapes.
Stephan was beloved by each community in which he invested time. Known for his dry wit and wry smirk, Stephan exemplified diplomacy, strove for efficiency, and usually had a thoughtful plan. He maintained integrity and was known as a principled man. To rest, he was just happy to sit and be with Teresa.
Stephan is survived by his wife and best friend Teresa, and their six children: Isaac Stephan, Rebekah Wallace, Jerusha Grace, Malachi Keenon, Jedidiah Miller, and Asher William. He is also survived by his parents Robert (Bob) and Susan Crone, his brother Robert (Rob) and Rob’s wife Mollie, and their children, Claire, Caroline, and Peter. Stephan was also survived by Teresa’s brother, Will, and her sister, Lea, and Lea’s children, Haley, Darby, and Turner.
