With heavy hearts but deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of our beloved Sue Barker VanNoy, who left this world on March 12, 2025 surrounded by the love she so selflessly poured into others. She was the heart of our family, a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a cherished grandmother, and a pillar of the community.
Sue was born on September 12, 1952, in Georgetown, Texas to Joe and Polly Barker. She dedicated her life to faith, family, and service. She was a woman of unwavering faith, love, quiet strength, and always placed the needs of others before her own. As a mother of six, she gave endlessly—her love knew no bounds, her sacrifices were immeasurable, and her presence was a gift to all who knew her. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy, and nothing made her happier than being surrounded by the laughter, stories, and love of her family.
A woman of deep faith, she found peace and purpose in her relationship with God, leading by example with kindness, humility, and grace. Music was the language of her soul—her hands could bring life to a piano, filling every room with melodies of joy and worship. She also had a love for reading, finding comfort in the written word and wisdom in the stories she treasured.
Beyond her home, Sue was a light in her community, always ready with a helping hand, a prayer, a warm smile, or a listening ear. She believed in the power of kindness, and through her countless acts of love and generosity, she left an indelible mark on the lives of so many.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Anthony VanNoy; her six loving children, Carrie (Chuck) Borst, Amanda (Mace) Royston, Brian (Tiffany) Conway, Abigail (Shawn) Cooper, Priscilla (Matthew) Taylor, and Lee Austin (Brittany) VanNoy; her 21 precious grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends who were blessed to know her. Though all of our hearts ache in her absence, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, rejoicing in the presence of the Lord she so deeply loved.
Her life was a testament to love, faith, and selflessness. She was our anchor, our teacher, our greatest blessing. While she may no longer walk beside us, her love and teachings will forever guide us.
A celebration of her beautiful life will be held on Saturday, April 19th 10am at The Gabriel’s Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Faith Summit Church in her honor.
Mom, your love was the greatest gift, and your legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to be loved by you. Until we meet again, may you dance freely and joyfully in heaven.
