Susan Mireles

Susan Terrapin Mireles, 58 of Georgetown, passed away on Friday August 19, 2022. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, Texas. A celebration of Susan’s life will be held on Wednesday August 31, 2022 beginning at 10:00 AM at the Gabriels Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at the Weir Cemetery, Weir, Texas.

Susan was born on August 22, 1963 in Frankfurt Germany to Walter Mearl Terrapin and Brigitte Ingrid Mueller Terrapin. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Emeterio Vasquez Mireles Jr. in 2009; her father Walter Mearl Terrapin in 2006; her mother-in-law Margarita Vasquez Mireles in 2004; her sister-in-law Wanda Lee Terrapin in 2018 and her nephew Jose Hernandez in 2000.

Susan owned and operated Jonah’s Tree Service and Landscaping since the passing of her husband in 2009. Most people will remember her as an outstanding woman and one of the most hardworking women around. Susan was a familiar face throughout the Georgetown community and will be deeply missed. Susan had a love for life, family and friends. Susan had a servant heart and was known for putting the needs of others before her own. She was willing to help anyone in need and always did it with a smile on her face. She enjoyed nothing more than being a mother and a grandmother and she was the absolute best at being both.

Susan leaves behind to cherish her memory, her two daughters, Heather and Rachael Mireles, and son-in-law’s, Jaime Rosas and Reynaldo Vasquez III. Grandchildren, Anthony Mireles, Angela Valdez, Nathan Mireles, Dominic Mireles, Jordan Rosas, Mya Rosas, Nadia Rosas, Jayden Mireles and Justice Vasquez. Father-in-law Emeterio Mireles Sr. Brother’s Raymond Terrapin, Ralph Bruckner and wife Rita and sister Sabine Williams. Sister-in-laws Maggie Mireles, Helen Sanchez and husband Margarito, Guadalupe Climaco and husband Reynaldo, Irene Gallegos and husband Martin and Kelly Blackman. Brother-in-laws Jose Mireles and wife Diane, Juan Mireles and wife Maria, Pedro Mireles and Raymond Mireles and wife Dora. Not to mention numerous nieces and nephews that she absolutely adored and a host of other loving family members and many friends.

Susan gave to her family and friends any way she could and even in her death she continues to do so by being an organ donor.
