

Thomas Earl “Tommy” Gober, 76, of Jarrell, TX, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 7, 2025. Born on April 28, 1949 in Bessemer, Alabama, Tommy was the son of Carl Finley Gober and Evelyn Ethredge Gober Hicks.
Tommy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. A hardworking man throughout his life, he owned and operated several businesses and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a passion for hot rods, The 40+ Kids bar-b-que cookoff team, the Houston Rodeo, and was always the life of the party. His goal in life was simple but profound: to bring a smile to everyone’s face. He blessed us with a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love. He lit up every room he walked into and truly never met a stranger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carolyn Gober; daughter, Tammy Fitzner and husband Dean; daughter Julie Myers and husband Curtis; grandchildren, Parker, Maci and Connor Fitzner; Brook, Cameron, Kaleb, Alayna, Conleigh, and Conway Myers; great grandchildren Stella Nichols, Stetson Myers, and Waylon Unbehagen; sisters Christina Bonnette and husband Donn, Polly Rackley and husband Ray, Rebecca Matthis and husband John; brother Danny Gober and wife Wanda; brother-in-law Oland Ruff and wife Mitzi; sister-in-law Jerry Gober and dozens of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl Finley Gober and Evelyn Ethredge Gober Hicks; step father Brooks Hicks; brothers Leon, Richard, and Tim Gober; sister-in-laws Francis and Leann Gober; brother-in-law David Ruff; niece Kasey Deerdoff; nephew Michael Cochran; and great nephew Alex Moravits.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at SallyBrooke, 215 Middleton St., Bacliff, TX 77518.
