She was extremely proud of her grandchildren; Amanda Little and husband Thomas Little, Tanner Vrabel, Rett Lee, Shelby Lee, Everett Lee and wife Amanda Lee, Nicholas Lee, and Alex Vrabel. She was blessed with two great grandchildren Bowen Little and Maisyn Little whom she adored with all of her heart.

Valerie was born in Granger, Texas on March 18, 1931 to Rudolph and Albina (Pustejovsky) Zett. She graduated from Granger High School and began work at Taylor National Bank. She would soon fall in love with her adoring husband Louis Vrabel. Louis and Valerie met at a dance where her father played the trumpet in a band. Valerie was not allowed to date so Louis waited to call on her until after he returned from serving his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He told her many times he wanted to write to her during his time in the military but was afraid she would not respond. Valerie and Louis married and settled into their home in Austin, Texas where Louis began college at the University of Texas. It was here they would begin to raise their three beautiful children. Louis would pass away in May of 1976 but Valerie’s love for him was unwavering until her death. She enjoyed spending her time with her children and family the most. She would particularly enjoy the Christmas parties at her family’s farmhouse in Granger, Texas where she was raised and of course Longhorn football. Valerie was devoted to her grandchildren. She was often found spoiling them with vanilla ice cream cups, and cookies. Valerie would say her greatest achievement in life was her children and grand (great grand) children. It is hard to explain the amount of love that Valerie had for her family, but her smile said it all; she was truly happiest when surrounded by those she loved.
