Born a little too soon and passed the same way. We will always remember Billy for how positive he was about the ups and downs of life. He never lost his sense of humor.William Edward Smith Jr. “Billy” was born June 14, 1957 in Fayetteville, Arkansas and passed on June 28, 2017 in Georgetown, TX.He was preceded in death by his father “Hoppy” Smith, mother Dorthe Lee Smith, and son William Scott “Scottie”.He leaves behind his wife of 35 years Tama Joyce Smith, son Philip Lynn Doan, sisters Linda Ann Kaharl and Joy Elaine Smith. He leaves a large, close knit loving family of Aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He leaves behind more friends than I know and a pool team that I'm sure considered him family too.We will all miss Billy for his good nature, his sense of humor, his overcome anything attitude, his competitive spirit, and mostly his friendship. Its so tough to see the good ones go. He is gone too soon. We are not the same without him but we can be stronger together with our shared memories of him. He came home too soon. He was a preemie born 3 months early. What do you do? I guess you put him in shoe box and alter doll clothes for something to wear. He was born in Arkansas but grew up in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He graduated from Springer High School in 1975. He joined the Army and traveled to Korea and Florida before returning back home. He married in 1982 to Tama Osborn of Amarillo, Texas. Billy and Tama spent the marjority of their lives in Amarillo until relocating to Georgetown, Texas. Billy was a mechanic in the Army and he always had a passion for motors. He holds the family record for how many cars and trucks one person could own. He liked fixin em and wheeling and dealing. Billy made most of his living roofing. He was very good at what he did. I'm sure those folks will miss him too. Billy’s real passion was for playing pool. He and his team from Amarillo were a family of their own. My condolences on your loss. “Billy had such a positive soul about everything in life. Always had a beautiful smile for everyone, the person everyone loves” TamaThank you Lord for bringing Billy into this world and someday I will thank you for taking him back. Just not yet. Missed by all. Rest in peace Billy Smith.Funeral Services will take place at The Gabirels Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 9:00 AM, with the burial to follow at the Central Texas State Veteran's Cemetery in Killeen, on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 11:00 am.
