Victoria Jean Scott was born on December 11, 1948, to Chet and Jayne Haney in Laramie, Wyoming. She grew up in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1967. She married Austin Lee Scott on December 9, 1972.
Viki and Scotty lived in Mitchell, Nebraska and to this union son Chet was born in 1973 followed by Hillary’s birth in 1976. They moved to Colorado Springs in the 1980s where they were both real estate brokers. They also worked in collections.
Viki was a wonderful mother and loved raising her children, decorating her home, and going out with friends dancing. She loved her pets and was the proud dog and cat mom to many! She was God’s Saint for animals. She helped raise money for the Scottsbluff Humane Society while serving on their Board in the early 1970s. She was an animal rights activist and always had several animals, opening her home to homeless cats.
Viki and Scottie moved their family to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1990 where they lived until 2009. They loved the Las Vegas life and she accompanied Scottie to many poker tournaments including several World Series of Poker Games at Binions Casino. Viki had a very successful sales career selling cars and RVs during her final working days in Nevada.
Viki was a loving and generous person and was very kind. She had a dry sense of humor yet was beautiful and intelligent. She will be deeply missed by her children and friends.
Viki passed away January 1, 2025, to join her husband Austin Scott who died February 14, 2024. She was reunited with her parents and sister Becky Burgess. She is survived by her children Chet Austin and Hillary Erica Scott, both of Scottsbluff.
