Alice came to Port Morien from Flint Island at a young age when her father retired as lighthouse keeper.
She married Clifford MacLeod from Donkin on July 1,1955.
In her early career she taught music at the local elementary schools. She attained her Hospitality degree from UCCB. Alice always had some sort of home based business on the go. Her final career reflected her early love of nursing as she became a PCW and completed her work life with Victoria Haven Nursing Home.
Alice recently retired as Organist of St. Johns United Church where she lead the choir and congregation in song for the past 60 Years.
Alice is survived by her daughters Amy O'Keefe (Terry), Melanie MacNeil (Bill), Lisa MacLeod (Duane Nardocchio); sons Harold MacLeod (Sheila) and Ricky MacLeod (Donna); grandchildren Crystal, Rachael, Dawne, Matthew, Robynn, Jesse, Danielle,and Hannah; Great Grandchildren Abigail, Clarke, Tommy and Vera; sister Lillian Pettipas; brother Jerry Martell and her very loyal companion, her dog Ginger.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Clifford and 11 brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 14 at 2pm in Patten Funeral Home Glace Bay with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating.
Interment at a later date.
