It is with deep sadness that we, the family of Bessie Rosella Cameron, 97, announce her passing on August 26, 2021 at Glace Bay General Hospital. Rosella was born and lived her entire life in Glace Bay. She is survived by her children Donna (Barry) Oldford, Shirley, Karen (Wallace) Ellsworth, and Gary (Grace Marie), nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, sister Venie McKinnon, and sister-in-law Ruth Crewe (Winnipeg). She was a dedicated member of Epworth United Church for many years, where she sang in the choir and was an active member of the UCW for over 50 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 71 years, Donald, her parents James and Lily Crewe, brother Alec Crewe and grandson Mark Oldford. Special thanks to Shelly Davidson and Betty Campbell for their years of excellent care and companionship. Also, many thanks to the VON for their daily visits for the last several years.
Visitation will take place at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., on Monday, Aug. 30 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Service will be held at Newsom United Church, on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at 11:00am with Rev. Dana Feltmate officiating. Interment to follow in Forest Haven Cemetery.
