It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frederick Clarence Boutilier (Big Fred) at the ICU in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family on September 9,2013.
Big Fred was employed by Hopkins Ltd. Port Morien. His greatest joy was spending time with his five grandchildren who he loved dearly.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia for 43 years and their two sons Freddie (Shannon) ;Reserve Mines and Robert (Heather );Birch Grove. Also by his grandchildren Roger, Samantha, of Birch Grove, Jarod , Brandon and Logan of Reserve Mines. Fred left behind sisters Glady’s Spedding , Katherine Hiscock, Ruth Jones, Carolyn MacIntyre , Doris O’Brien and many loving nieces and nephews, in-laws.
Predeceased by parents Artis & Mary Boutilier Port Morien, by sisters Violet Lawerence, Freda Head, Roseiline Meade, brothers Leonard , Hubert, Freeman and infant sister and brother Eileen and Clarence. Fred is also predeceased by his best friend Raymond Hiscock. Together Again.
Visitation for Clarence (Big Fred) will be held on Thursday September 12, from 2-4 & 7-9 at Patten Funeral Home 71 Union Street Glace Bay. Funeral Services will be held on Friday in Patten Funeral Home Chapel at 11am with Rev Myrna MacMullin officiating. Burial to take place in St Paul’s Anglican Cemetery Black Brook.
