Evelyn Jane Whitney

Evelyn was the last surviving member of her immediate family and daughter to the late Samuel and Margaret (Grant) Horne.

She is predeceased by her husband, Harry ‘The Puppet Man’ in 1998, as well as her sister, Ethel Horne, and brother, Everette Horne.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Jim (Ann Marie) Whitney of Mira; daughter, Margaret (Dal) MacIntyre of Port Hawkesbury; eight grandchildren, Jamie, Jason, Jody, Joel and Lynn Ann MacIntyre and Erin Uegama, Chad and Rochelle Whitney; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lorna MacVicar and Vera Horne.

Evelyn was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and a great cook, known for her delicious sweets and bread. She amazed everyone with her wonderful memory and keen mind. She enjoyed her last years, largely because of the excellent care from her VON and Home Care Workers. She will be remembered fondly and missed by all.

Special thanks to her nephew Gary and wife Jackie Whitney for always being there for her.
