It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of George Edison Sheppard at the age of 65. George was born and lived his life in Glace Bay. He worked most of his life with the Devco Railway until his retirement. In the early years he was known to be a pretty good dart shooter and rock and roll dancer. His interests also included trains, reading (he was an avid reader), surfing the web, watching good movies and listening to music. He is survived by his daughters, Stacey (James) and Meghan; sons, Brent (Tanya) and Jason and his six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Alexis (MacLeod), his parents, Lillian (Campbell) and Joseph Sheppard, a brother who died in infancy and stepfather, Hubert Dalton. There will be no visitation.
