Gerald Bryson Strong

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gerald Bryson Strong on August 31,2018, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care.

Born in Glace Bay he was the son of the late Shannon and Hazel Strong.

Bryson worked many years in retail outlets in the Glace Bay Area. He was a long time member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, was on the Board of Managers, sang in the Choir and also served many years as Janitor of the church. Bryson also sang in the Coal Town Chorus and was a member of the Tyrian Youth Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by daughters Geri Lou Strong- Snook (Henry) and Neila Ferguson (Alan); son Shannon (Amanda); 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren ; brother Kevin (Ann) and special nieces.

Service will be held on Wednesday September 5,2018 at 11am in St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. The Masonic Lodge will be having a Masonic service at 10:45am before funeral service. Interment to follow in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
