

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Henry William Hiscock on Monday August 25, 2025 at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital. Born in Glace Bay on September 13 1941, he was the son of the late Cecil & Mary (Curtis) Hiscock.
Henry Sr. began his career as an automotive mechanic before transitioning into electrical construction, where he became a longstanding member of IBEW Local 1852. He later served as a building operating technician for Public Works, BLJC, & SNC-Lavalin. A self-made man & a jack of all trades, Henry took immense pride in his yard, garden, & the home he built. He was often found each day at the kitchen table, drinking a large cup of tea with his canine companions, Layla and Adele. An avid enthusiast of darts, horseshoes, cards, and puzzles. Henry also enjoyed long drives, camping trips, dancing, and playing his harmonica.
He is survived by his sons Henry (Charmaine), Kevin (Lisa), Shawn (Janet), Ryan (Samantha); grandchildren Taylor (Tyler), Mitchell (Vanessa), Marley (Ryan), Megan (Andrew), Braelee (Alex), Shawn-Tiffany (Austin), Aaliyah (Ronnie), Seth; great-granddaughter, Maisie; brother, Raymond; sisters, Eileen, Mary “Sis” & Caroline.
Besides his parents, Henry was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret (Browner); beloved partner and best friend in later years, Josephine Gilmet; infant twin sons, Raymond, Joseph; brothers, Charles, Cecil; sisters, Ida & Robina.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Patten Funeral Home. A private family gathering will take place with inurnment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Memories and condolences can be shared with the family by visiting pattenfuneral.com.
