Mary Smith (Elver) of Glace Bay passed away on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at Seaview Manor.

Born in Hague, Holland, she was the daughter of the late Barend Selhorst and Bonnie Verburg. Mary came to Canada in 1947.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Glace Bay, a member of IODE, and a member of the hospital auxiliary.

Mary is survived by several cousins in Holland; as well as nephews, Lloyd (Joan) Morgan, their sons, Blaine, Kyle and Earl (Heloise) Morgan.

Predeceased by parents.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at 1 p.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Glace Bay, with Rev. Judy Phillips officiating.

Private family burial will be held at a later date at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Family would like to thank the staff of Seaview Manor for taking very good care of Mary and to the staff of Patten Funeral Home.
