It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of our dear Mother, Mary CeciliaTurner, on Sept 28,2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, at the age of 91. Born in Isaac’s Harbour, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry O’Donnell and Eva Mae (Sponagle) O,Donnell. Mary had worked at a young age doing housekeeping until she began working at a local candy store, where she met her loving husband, Roy. Together they raised their 5 sons and 3 daughters. Mary was always there for someone who was in need, a strong figure you could lean on. Through the years she had tried many different hobbies and excelled at being an amateur florist, so brides became her favourite customers and if there was a special occasion for the family she would stay up until the wee hours of the morning baking and loved to tend to her garden in the summer and when anyone brought her a new plant she would be tickled pink! She loved Christmas and loved to hunt for the tree. It had to be perfect. When she found the perfect tree she would have a twinkle in her eyes and when it was decorated nothing could be more beautiful. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Eva, Husband Roy, son Wayne, baby daughter Carole as well as sisters, Viola, Doris and Alice and daughter in-law Heather and son in-law Steve. She is survived by daughter Patricia (Leslie), son Alvin (Teresa) daughter Helen, son Stanley, son Kevin (Donna) daughter Susan (Andre’) and son Lester (Helen) and her daughter in-law Brenda. Sisters Gertie, Laura, Patsy, Marg, Barb and Sheila and brothers Bob, Tommy and Martin. She was loved by everyone who had the privilege to meet her. Her greatest joy was her family, 9 grand children and 10 great grand children.
