Sara Jane Miller

It is with great sadness that the family of Sara Miller announce her death at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB, on Monday, February 18th, 2013. Born on Scatterie Island, NS, on April 23rd, 1925, she was the wife of Gordon Miller of Glace Bay.

In addition to her husband, Gordon, Sara leaves behind her sons, Robert (Linda), William (Dianne) and Kevin (Joan); daughters, Diana (Dave), Brenda (Darrell) and Dolena (Bobby); 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; brother, James (Helen) Parsons; and sister in law, Dolly Miller. Sara was predeceased by her parents, James and Rose (Trimm) Parsons; daughter, Angela; grandson, Cpl. Jamie McMullin; brothers, Fred, Jack, Winifred, Ralph, Garfield, Billy and Joe; sister, Susan.

Visitation will take place at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, on Saturday, February 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held in Patten Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, February 24th, 2013 at 2 pm with Pastor Gary Dillon officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Garden at a later date. For those who wish, donations in Sara’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
