Angel Nicole Newman-Clay

Angel was the beloved wife of Isaac Clay, and she cherished her furbaby, Galena. She was the loving sister of Paul (Trey) Newman III (Julie Abrahamzon), Crystal McDaniel (Brandon McDaniel), and big brother/cousin of Brian Newman. Angel was a proud aunt to Amari and Xander McDaniel, and she was treasured by her in-laws, Raymond, Kristina, and Veronica Clay. She was goddaughter of Alane Watts and the niece of Carmelita Newman. She was dearly loved by a host of family and friends.

Angel adored her Bordoodle, Galena. She loved people deeply and intentionally. Angel was a social worker and incredibly involved with City of Truth Church. Her bubbly laughter was contagious, and she mastered goofy faces at an early age. She danced with the Agape Liturgical Dancers, and she sang with the Kansas City Girls Choir, becoming Miss KCGC (head chorister). She was devoted to learning, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages with an emphasis in Spanish and her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with an emphasis in interpersonal communication from the University of Missouri. She honorarily earned her Master of Social Work with a Clinical Concentration from Saint Louis University. Angel was a fierce advocate for people with cystic fibrosis and served on the University of Kansas’s Cystic Fibrosis Adult Advisory Board. Words will always fail to capture the depth of her faith, the musicality of her laugh, the gentleness of her heart, and the fullness of her personality. But for those who love her most, she is unforgettable. She was the embodiment of joy, and she will be forever cherished.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at Sheffield Family Life Center Church, 5700 Winner Rd, Kansas City, MO 64127 on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 12:00 Noon with Visitation from 11:00 AM until service time. Interment will be at Glenridge Cemetery, 2406 State Highway B (Shepherd Rd), Liberty, Missouri 64068.
