

Barbara Ann Burner, 76, of Lee’s Summit, MO, died at her home on August 15, 2014. Respecting her preference, Barbara will be cremated and there will be no funeral services. Inurnment will be at a later date at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO. Born in St. Joseph, MO on June 24, 1938, the only child of Walter Lee and Gladys Leona (Yahns) Burner, her early childhood was spent in North Kansas City and then Gladstone, MO. She was a graduate of North Kansas City High School, Research Hospital School of Nursing, Kansas City, MO and the Barnes Hospital School of Nurse Anesthetist, St. Louis, MO. She was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist for 30 years and worked her entire career at the Jewish Hospital of St. Louis, retiring in 1993 as the Chief Nurse Anesthetist. She returned to the Kansas City area following retirement. Her avocation was genealogy with which she had the opportunity to make many acquaintances throughout the United States. She also enjoyed camping and computing. She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army. She is survived by cousins, Patricia (Culling) Webb Gladstone and Gene Roger Elsas of Overland Park, KS.
