Barbara M. Reinwald

Barbara M. Reinwald, 67, of Kansas City, MO passed away July 31, 2014. Funeral service will be Monday August 4, 2014 at Northland Cathedral 101 NW 99th; Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be 4-6pm Sunday August 3rd, 2014 at White Chapel Funeral Home. Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Brent Reinwald. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Gary Reinwald, of the home, their daughter Carie Doerr and husband Dan of Kalamazoo, MI; grandchildren Melyssa, Daniel, Rachel Doerr and Parker Reinwald; parents Jack and Maria Hunt; brothers Brad Hunt (Mary), Ken Hunt and sister Janel Bryan (Gary); daughter-in law Wendi Reinwald. Barbara was a loving and thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her vibrant personality and radiant smile were loved by all. Married 48 years, Barbara and Gary made a strong partnership and nothing could stop them as long as they were together. Barbara enjoyed traveling, winters in Brownsville, summers at Stockton Lake, and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren. They describe grandma as "simply the best"! She was loving, talkative, fun, active, caring, understanding, and inspirational. Barbara valued education. She earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees while raising a family and working a full time job. Barbara was a dedicated and hard worker for 40 years at Maple Woods Community College as Registrar and the Metropolitan Community College as Senior Project Manager. She also volunteered 10 years with HEUG (Higher Education User Group) as program chair, conference chair, and Board of Directors. She brought energy, enthusiasm, creativity, and fun to every aspect of her life and to others she influenced.
