Beckey Melinda Byrd

Beckey Melinda Byrd, 95, of Paragould, AR passed away April 16, 2016. Mrs. Byrd was born October 14, 1920 in Ott, AR to the late Braxton and Lydia (Tackett) Durham. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Beckey started working at Emerson Electric in 1956 before moving to Kansas City, MO in 1960, where she was a homemaker. She loved working in her gardens. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Truman J. Byrd; 6 brothers; 4 sisters; 1 granddaughter, Connie Van Slyke; 1 grandson, Chris Byrd; and 1 son-in-law, Leon Brinkley. She is survived by daughter, Barbara Brinkley of Paragould, AR., son, Curtis (Patti) Byrd of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Geraldine “Gerri” (Bob) Nash of Paragould, AR; 1 brother, Charlie Durham of Bakers-field, MO; 1 brother, Willie Durham of Kansas City, MO and 1 sister, Geneva Peters of Kearney, MO; 5 grandkids, Vicki Nunn, Judy Lamberth, Joe Brinkley, Lisa Dodd, and Jo Pate; 25 great grandchildren, 26 great –great grandchildren; 1 great-great-great grandson. Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday April 22, 2016 at White Chapel Funeral Home with a visitation from 1-2 PM Friday. Burial: White Chapel Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Children’s Home in Paragould, AR.
