Born in Detroit, Michigan on August 11, 1966, Bruce was the fourth son of David and Janice Niederhauser. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Buffalo, New York. After 13 years in Buffalo, Janice moved Bruce and his brother Kevin to Kansas, her birth state, where Bruce graduated from Shawnee Mission High School and later earned a degree in childhood education from the University of Kansas.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Deborah Niederhauser; 6 children/stepchildren, grandsons, Ezra and Cole; granddaughters Moon, Kloe, and Avery. He was also survived by three brothers, Phil (Patty), Dale (Diane) and Kevin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Bruce was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who relished the time he had with his grandkids and rejoiced in the company of his dogs (he was a self-proclaimed dog whisperer). Bruce was known for his wry sense of humor and love for '70s era rock and roll. He was always optimistic in spite of the many hardships he faced throughout his life. He stayed consistent to his roots, comfortable with who he was, and strong in his faith. Bruce ultimately succumbed to cancer after a long battle. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A visitation for Bruce will be held Friday, March 28, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119. Following the visitation will be a graveside service in White Chapel Cemetery.
