Caroline Marie Rodriguez

Caroline Marie Rodriguez, age 71, of Riverside, MO went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation in Riverside MO. Catholic Mass and Rosary will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo, 900 NE Shady Lane Dr., Kansas City, MO 64118. A Celebration of Life and luncheon will be held after the mass at 1:00 PM at Cornerstone Wesleyan Church Multi-purpose room, 6609 N. Brighton, Kansas City, MO 64119. The family has selected cremation with inurnment taking place at a later date. Memorial Contributions can be made to Juvenile Diabetes. Born October 26, 1944 in Arkansas City, Kansas to John and Josephine Rodriguez. Caroline graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1963. After graduation she worked briefly as a photographer for Mike Marotta. She later moved to Springfield, MO and worked for GE, French’s and for the Zenith Corporation. She moved back to Arkansas City in 1989 to care for her mother. While in Arkansas City, Caroline worked for Binney and Smith and General Electric as a work leader over the rework area. She was also a shop union steward. Caroline retired from GE in February 2007. She was in a skilled nursing center since May 2008, due to diabetic illness. Her greatest joy was being with friends and family but shopping and frequenting yard sales and auctions were her passion. Caroline was an avid collector of dolls and numerous interests. She loved to shop for her family; always finding treasures she loved to share. Caroline had a giving heart to all that were her friends. Her family referred to her lovingly as “Lala.” Survivors include her mother, Josephine Rodriguez of Gladstone, Missouri; and sisters, Virginia Rosales (Michael) of Lenexa, Kansas and Christina Allen (Jonathan) of Gladstone, Missouri. She was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews: Armando Trillo (Emily) of Kansas City, MO, Marcelo Trillo(Angela) of San Jose, CA, Enrique Trillo (fiancé, Crystal Moore) of Oak View, MO, Micaela O’Donnell(Kevin) of Kansas City, MO, Briana Williams (Arlando) of Lenexa, KS and Mariza Rosales (fiancé, Eric Probst) of Kansas City, MO. She had many great nieces and nephews; and those that she called family. She didn’t know any friends that she didn’t treat as her family. Caroline was preceded in death by her father, John Rodriguez.
