Alice “Charlene” Wilson, 82, died unexpectedly on February 7, 2023. Alice Charlene Ball was born on April 17, 1940, in Sterling, KS to Ralph & Charlotte Ball. She graduated from Sterling High School and attended Sterling College, Sterling, KS. Charlene married Willis Wilson in 1960. After living in Kinsley, KS and moving to Hutchinson, KS she began giving private piano and voice lessons which she continued for 40 years after moving to Kansas City, MO. Over ten years the couple welcomed four children into their home. Her children remember her as a loving mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Charlene was accomplished at piano and voice and sang hundreds of duets with Willis at weddings, funerals, and conventions. She was a loving and well-dressed individual who loved music and family. She was an active and dedicated Church member.
Charlene is preceded in death by father Ralph Ball, mother Charlotte Ball, brother Bill Ball and son Martin Wilson.
Charlene is survived by husband Willis Wilson, son Mark (Janice) Wilson, daughters Marcia (David) Diasio and Marla (Michael) Oldham; grandchildren Jennifer (Brigitte) Wilson, Michael Wilson, Ryan Diasio, Danielle (Ryan) Mitchell, Holly (Devin) Todd, Trent (Stacy) Oldham; great-grandchildren Jaiden and Easton Diasio, Rhett and Maddox Mitchell, Hanna Hall, Wyatt Todd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Kearney First United Church at 1000 East State Rte. 92, Kearney, MO 64060.
