

Mr. Charles “Charlie” Alton Williams, age 81, died peacefully on September 26, 2021. Charles was born on May 1,1940 in Fortescue, Missouri to Charles Dale and Edna Jean Williams. He graduated from Mound City High School. Charles married Gloria Elaine and the couple had three children Robin, Brenda, and Charles R.
After moving to the Kansas City and Gladstone area, Charles began working for Corn Products Refining Company in 1960 where he earned a certification as journeyman/electrician. In 1986, Charles began a new career with General Motors and spent the next 17 years there.
Charles held the farm life close to his heart. He enjoyed spending time on the farm in Mound City, Missouri. You could often find him fishing in one of its two well stocked ponds when he was not out checking on the crops. Charles loved to watch baseball. He was a big fan of the Kansas City Royals and, most importantly, his grandson’s team. Above all else, Charles is remembered as a dedicated family man who was willing to do anything to take care of anyone.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents Charles Dale and Edna Jean Williams.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Gloria Williams; his children Robin Berislavich and her husband John C Berislavich, Brenda Cumming and her husband Dr Christopher G Cumming, and Charles R. Williams; his sister Carolyn Williams, six grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Charles is also survived by his beloved cat, Lighting.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 Northeast Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64119. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 2 at 1:00 pm at Mount Hope Cemetery, 2569 Hold County Road, Mound City, MO 64470.
