Charlie was born on March 2, 1941to Clyde Edward Parker and Alice Myrtle (White) Parker in Monegaw Springs, Missouri. Charlie was the seventh of eight children.
He attended North Kansas City High School with the Class of 1959 and would later serve honorably during the Vietnam Conflict in the US Army (Oct. 65 – Sept. 67).
Charlie worked for 35 years at the Ford Assembly Plant in Claycomo, Missouri, later retiring to Warsaw, Missouri for the better part of 25 years.
He was one of the founding members of the Shaker Car Club which started in 1968 through the early 1970’s. The Club won numerous trophies drag racing at Lawrence Dragway. He was also a proud member of the Warsaw American Legion Post, initiating the Legion Riders unit where they would visit veteran homes, also a member with the Benton Co Combat Veterans Association, rode with the Patriot Guard, standing flag detail for Veteran Services, and served with the Benton Co Food Pantry.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings, Aaron, Parker, Thomas Parker, Carrie Parker Brallier Christian, Clarence Parker, and Dale Parker; three children, Kathy June Parker, Paul Wesley Lytle, and Charles Parker; and one grandson, Colton Parker.
Survivors include his daughters, Kelley Bishop of Sedalia, Missouri and Kate Avrett of Apache Junction, Arizona; sons, James Parker of Warsaw, Missouri and Thomas (Erica) Parker of Loxahatchee, Florida; siblings, Myrtle Hergemueller of Dayton, Texas and Frances Barger of Kearney, Missouri; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren as well as a whole host of nieces and nephews. Charlie was known as the “Cool Uncle”.
