Cheryl was born on June 3, 1947 in Macomb, Illinois to Charles and Christine Denisar. After graduating high school, Cheryl married Fred Slater. They lived in Kansas City and began a blended family of five, which Cheryl took care of the home. She set about teaching the children how to cook and become productive members of society. They remember her as a driven and strong-willed mother who encouraged them to be strong individuals. She also helped to raise her grandchildren and great children. They fondly remember her as a loving and caring role model. Most of all, Cheryl protected and loved her family. After Fred’s passing in 2001, she reunited with her childhood sweet heart, Jerry White, in 2005 and spent the rest of her life with him.
She is preceded in death by her husband Fred Slater, son Tony Johnson, brothers Lee and David Moore, parents Charles and Christine Denisar, and great granddaughter Katie Shubert.
