

David Allen Ward, age 73, departed this life on March 11th, 2025, at his home in Kearney, Missouri, hand in hand with his dear wife. David was born on June 13, 1951, in Lebanon, Kentucky to the late Richard Ward and Betty Jean (Jeffries) Ward.
David grew up in Springfield, Kentucky with his parents and siblings, growing his love for Kentucky basketball. In 1972 David graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in business. After college David moved to Oklahoma, working in the gas and oil industry before moving to Dallas to work for Cap Gemini. In 1991 David moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he planted roots and his family. On February 17, 1994, David began his entrepreneurial journey, opening Midwest Consulting Group that remained open and successful until his retirement on May 30, 2024.
On September 14, 1996, David was united in marriage to Johnetta Marie Ford in Jamaica. David and Johnetta remained happily married for 28 years, building a beautiful life and family together in Kansas City, Missouri.
David enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, no matter the occasion. David loved the family dogs, Jack and Lucy, and playing golf in which he was quite successful, winning many trophies from both competitive and friendly play tournaments. David was also an avid fisherman and hunter, both traveling the world and spending days out at his farm with his children, grandchildren and family and friends, sharing his love of his hobbies with those he loved.
David first and foremost loved God and was passionate about sharing the gospel with those around him. On March 10, 2024, David recommitted his life to Christ, participating in a public declaration of faith through baptism at his church Antioch Bible Baptist, sharing his heart with the message not to wait another moment to give your life to the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Betty Jean; and his grandparents.
David is survived by his wife Johnetta; daughter, Ami Ward (children April and Addison) of Kansas City, Missouri; son, Matt Ward (wife Jakki, children Tripp and Granger) of Kansas City, Missouri; son, Trey Ward (wife Kachina, children Jayleigh, Emyleigh and Leigham) of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Krista Ford (children Tyler and Logan) of Prairie Village, Kansas; and daughter, Amber Seaman (husband Matt, child Brayden) of Kearney, Missouri. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Shelton Hightower (husband Dan) of Ocala, Florida; Rick Ward of Kalispell, Montana; and brother, Mark Ward (wife Patty) of Danville, Kentucky, as well as many nieces, a nephew, great nieces and a great nephew.
Visitation for David’s service is scheduled for 4 – 8 pm on March 26th, 2025, with full service and burial the following day, March 27th at 11am. Both services will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone Missouri 64119.
