

Debra Ann Johnson, age 46, of Kansas City Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 in North Kansas City Hospital. She was the daughter of Denny and Doris Johnson. Debbie was born November 5, 1969 in Kansas City, Missouri. She lived in Kansas City until second grade and then the family moved to a small farm outside of Harrisonville, Missouri. From an early age, Debbie loved animals. Growing up outside of town allowed her to have a host of pets including many cats, dogs, pigs and even a Shetland pony the family got from the zoo. She was active in Archie High School in Future Homemakers of America, 4-H and as both a basketball and football cheerleader. Debbie was blessed with her only child, Cody Johnson, who she raised and loved very much. She was currently enrolled in her fourth semester at Maple Woods Community College, where she was training to help handicapped individuals with hearing impediments as a sign language interpreter. Her love for pets and kindness to all animals was apparent throughout her entire life and you were not around her long before she began sharing about them. Debbie attended Hope Thru Grace Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy in Kansas City with her mom, Doris, where she was baptized on January 28, 2012. She was preceded in death by her father, Denny Johnson. Debbie is survived by her son, Cody Johnson, of the home; mother, Doris Johnson, of Pleasant Valley, Missouri; brother, Danny Johnson, and wife, Shelle, of Harrisonville, Missouri; sister, Amy Tennison, and husband, Scott, of Rogers, Arkansas; niece, Augusta; nephew, Ryan, of Rogers Arkansas; numerous friends and the entire church family at Hope Thru Grace Fellowship Church. A memorial service will be held at 2pm, October 22, 2016 at Hope Thru Grace Church. Family will receive guests one hour prior to service.
