
Donald Ray Reese, 84, of Kansas City passed away Monday May 19th, 2014 at his home. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons White Chapel, 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Tiffany Fellowship Assembly of God Church, 7315 NW Barry Rd. , Kansas City, MO. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Mr. Reese was born October 4, 1929 in North Kansas City, Missouri to Basil and Clara Reese. On December 30, 1950, at North Kansas City, he was married to Jenna L. Falls, who is deceased. Also surviving are a daughter, Melody R. Johnson and her husband, David of Kansas City; two sons, Russell R. Reese of Kansas City and Jefferey K. Reese and his wife, Darcy of Kansas City; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Townsend; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his German Shepherd mix, Maddy. His wife, parents and one brother, Robert (Bob) Reese, preceded him in death. Mr. Reese was co-founder and President of Don Reese Builder’s, Inc., with his wife for 53 years. He enjoyed deep-sea fishing, traveling by motor home, collecting seashells, going to the beach, boating at the Lake of the Ozarks, raising Cocker Spaniels, and building beautiful houses, as well as crafts. Don also enjoyed spending time with family and being involved in church. He had a deep love for music, especially Gaither gospel music. Mr. and Mrs. Reese were charter members of Northland Cathedral, First Assembly God North Kansas City and Tiffany Fellowship Assembly of God churches. He was the original general contractor who built Tiffany Fellowship Church. Don, a devout Christian and strong in his beliefs, raised his family in a Christian home and was also a big supporter of Kansas City Youth for Christ over the years.
