

Her father, with the Army Corps of Engineers, relocated the family to Kansas City in 1948, to be closer to her mother's family. Elizabeth attended school at Shoal Creek Elementary School, then to North Kansas City High School, where she was active in pep club, student newspaper and yearbook. Graduating with the NKCHS class of 1957, she attended Drury College (now university) in Springfield, MO, where she was a member of the Gamma Gamma chapter of Alpha Phi sorority, serving in several offices including chapter president her senior year. She also served on the staffs of the college newspaper, the Drury Mirror, and on the Yearbook staff. She graduated with honors in the class of 1961 with a double major in Spanish and English. Elizabeth married John Patrick White, whom she met during her senior year on June 22, 1963. The couple began their married life in Springfield; Patrick was employed with the Spokane, MO, school district and later the Cabool School District.
Elizabeth was employed as the Drury College Alumni Secretary from 1963 to 1966, then a short time with KGBX radio during the summer of 1966 as an ad copywriter and co-hosted a weekly radio show, “Tradio” and enjoyed being part of the broadcast team. Moving back to Kansas City, where her husband began teaching in the North Kansas City School District in the fall of 1966, she was employed by the men's civic service organization, Sertoma International, utilizing her expertise in Spanish and English, as the editor of all international publications, and becoming the first woman to speak at their international convention. She and her husband adopted two children, Stacy Lynne, in 1973, and John Eric, in 1976.
Elizabeth and her husband have been a members of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd since 1972, where she served as a member of the Altar Guild for over 40 years, as director and co-director, retiring in 2016.
She is survived by her husband, of 62 years, Pat, and children Stacy Branson (Tony) and Eric (Marissa) and two grandchildren, Caylee Sue White, Raven Bell Walker, sister -in-law Margaret White, brother-in-law Nicholas White (Patricia), nephews William White (Anita) and Tim White (Sarah), nieces Jean Harrison (Troy) and Susan Winter, numerous great nieces and nephews, and beloved pets George and Cooper.
Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Northcare Hospice House, Alzheimer's Association in memory of Elizabeth White, or to the pet rescue of their choice.
Visitation will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 4947 NE Chouteau Drive, Kansas City, MO, at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Service of Christian Burial at 11:00 a. m. Interment will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Gladstone, MO. The family wishes to thank the angels of Northcare Hospice House for their kindness and wonderful care of Elizabeth.
