Emma Marie Stirlen

Emma Marie was born on May 30, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri to Clarence and Anna Eden. Emma contracted polio as a child. Despite her physical limitations, she enthusiastically played basketball during her high school years. Emma Marie was united in marriage to Ralph Stirlen on October 24, 1953. Emma Marie and Ralph welcomed six children. Emma Marie was an administrative assistant and retired from the North Kansas City School District. Education was very important to Emma Marie. She encouraged her children to pursue the benefits of higher education. Emma Marie loved to travel. She loved the Plaza, the Boulevard, the museums, and everything Kansas City has to offer. She also loved feeding the birds and spending time with her grandchildren. Emma Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph and five siblings. Emma Marie is survived by her six children, four grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.

A Gathering of family and friends for Emma will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE ANTIOCH RD, GLADSTONE, MO 64119.
