Eric James Garner

Eric James Garner, 36, left us much too soon on October 27, 2022. Eric was born on February 28, 1986, in Dearborn, Michigan to James and Linda Garner. After graduating from Oak Park High School, he immersed himself fully in his passion of cooking. Eric loved the joy that food brings people, which reflected his selfless, caring spirit. His laughter, big hugs, and smile were known to many. Eric found joy in the little things, whether watching an episode of Scooby Doo, listening to music, or laying by the pool. He will be remembered fondly.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Frank; paternal grandmother, Frankye Garner; and maternal grandmother, Manuela Campos.

Eric is survived by his parents, Linda and James Garner of Camdenton, Missouri; brother, Kevin Garner of Kansas City, Missouri; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 12-3 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at The Capital Grille, 4760 Broadway Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64112 with words of remembrance at 2 p.m. Refreshments and food will be provided. An additional celebration will be held in Detroit, Michigan at a future date.
