Esther Belle Mercier

Esther Belle Mercier, age 88, of Smithville, Missouri passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022. She was born March 15, 1934 in Argentine, Kansas to George and Elizabeth Jacobson. Esther grew up across the street from the love of her life, whom she would later marry, Donald J. Mercier. They had 2 children, Mike and Michelle, and was later blessed with 3 grandkids.

Esther was a very kind and generous woman. She was very selfless and gave everything she could to her children growing up and anyone else who was ever in need. She loved the handicapped children that she worked with and treated them as if they were her own. She volunteered at the Special Olympics every year. Her love didn't just end with people, she also loved animals, specifically dogs and cats. To relax after all the giving she would do throughout the day, she would enjoy herself a nice, ice cold beer, or 2. She was easy to love, and be with. She was very down to earth and easy to talk to, her family could go to her with anything and she would listen without any judgement. She was blessed to have them and they were blessed to have her. Her family is thankful for all the memories they shared with her and she will be deeply missed.

Esther is preceded in death by her mother and father, George and Elizabeth; her loving husband, Donald Mercier; her son Mike Mercier; and 2 grandchildren.

Esther is survived by her daughter Michelle Witt; her favorite son in law Dennis; grandsons, Travis, Alex, and Dalton Meek; sister, Sharon Saluzzi; and many nieces and nephews.
