Gary R. Monnig Sr.

Mr. Gary R. Monnig Sr., 66, past away peacefully on Sunday, December 26th, 2021. Gary was born on February 15th, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri to Glennon and Hazel Monnig. He attended Winnetonka High School. In September of 1973 Gary started working at Ford Motor Company as a warehouseman. He retired after 31 years in April of 2004. Gary married Debra Burdick in January 1976. They divorced in 2002. They had two children, Gary R. Monnig Jr., born in 1976 and Amy L. Monnig, born in 1980. His children remember him as a kind, loving, devoted father who was always there for you, no matter. Gary was a generous, witty, good hearted individual who loved the outdoors and who was passionate about hunting, camping, and fishing. He was an active and dedicated member of the NRA and often donated currency.

Gary is preceded in death by his father Glennon Monnig and his brother Keith Monnig.

Gary is survived by his mother Hazel Monnig; his children Gary Monnig Jr. and Amy Monnig; his brother Dean Monnig; his sister Donna Colley; his grandchildren Alexis Quasa, Gary Monnig III, Savanna Turnbow, Dylan Monnig, Quinn Monnig; his great grandchild Grayson Quasa; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Gary will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 11am to 12pm at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119.
