Gerald Wayne Dewey (Jerry) of Kansas City, MO was born July 6, 1932 in Industrial City, MO and passed from this life to his heavenly home on July 13, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Mae Dewey along with four children; Gerald, Jr and Jennifer Dewey, Gloria Reeves, Gale and Harold Gann, and Garland and Jackie Dewey; ten grandchildren Jason Dewey, Amy Wehrli, Cara Porter, Holly Dewey, Tanna Soldanels, Mariah Dewey, Michelle Reid, Trent Witte, Lisa Strong, and Brian Gann; 20 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and two siblings Jack Dewey and Nancy Carter.
Jerry worked as a brick mason for 42 years and was very active in his church, serving in many capacities including being a deacon, a leader for the Royal Ambassadors (RA) and umpiring for the Clay County Southern Baptist Association.
Jerry was also an avid golfer, accomplishing three “holes in one”.
He is preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Beatrice (O’dell) Dewey, siblings Billy Dewey, Gene Dewey, Cleland Dewey, and Annavea Houston, son-in-law Gary Reeves (his golf buddy), and two grandchildren Cameron and Corey Hesher.
