

Lee is survived by his sisters, Teresa (Darrell) Deerberg, of Ohio and Myra Thurston of Pleasant Valley, Missouri, his nephew Jason (Dana) Thurston, great nephew, Noah Thurston and great nieces Delaney and Grace Thurston, all from Kearney, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Blondena Fox of Gladstone, Missouri, brother-in-law Ron Thurston of Pleasant Valley, Missouri and nephew Brandon Thurston of Moultrie, Georgia.
Lee was a naturalist, who loved nature and enjoyed being outdoors. He enjoyed the mountains, especially those in Montana and canoeing on the Midwest rivers. He also enjoyed hunting and swimming. Lee was very handy and could repair almost anything and enjoyed spending lots of time at his lake lots.
He was a free spirit who enjoyed riding his motorcycle and visited numerous state and national parks .
Lee was a good cook, known for his free style cooking and creative recipe development, whether on a stove, a barbeque grill or in a cast iron skillet over an open fire. He liked to use organic ingredients in his cooking and grew some of his own vegetables.
A deep faith in God guided Lee’s life. He was a kind and gentle soul with a generous heart. Lee will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A visitation service will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, located at 900 NE Shady Ln Dr., Kansas City, Missouri, 64118, on October 4, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11 am. Mass to follow..
The committal service is scheduled to take place at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Missouri, 64119-1324, on October 4, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
