Holly Ann “Holly Anna” Barr, 44, passed away on March 4th, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on September 7th, 1980, in Kansas City, to Barry and Linda Barr. She lived a life filled with passion and joy, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew her.
Holly attended and graduated from Park Hill High School where she made life-long friends.
From an early age Holly had an immense love for music which led to her passion for attending concerts, rarely missing an opportunity to experience live performances. It was not uncommon for her to attend multiple shows in a single week. Sharing this passion with her loved ones – whether taking her parents, cousin, friends or most importantly, her boys – brought her immense joy and created cherished memories. Due to this passion of music between herself and Craig, the boys’ father, they now too have a great appreciation for music.
Beyond music, Holly was deeply devoted to her children and family. She was an unwavering supporter of the Boy Scouts, actively participating in events not only to cheer on Zakkary but also to support the entire troop. Through this involvement, she formed lifelong friendships and became an integral part of the scouting community. She never missed a school event for Barrett or Zakkary, and took great pride in their accomplishments, always sharing their successes with friends and family. She took every opportunity to brag about how well Barrett was doing in school, with sports or just his playful personality. She took immense pride in being a mother to Zakkary and Barrett.
Affectionately referred to as the “wild child” by her parents, Holly’s spirit was one of warmth and generosity. Her smile could light up any room, and she loved her family wholeheartedly, leaving an indelible mark on those who knew her. She loved to give and when she saw something she knew her family would love she would not hesitate to send it to them, which was exemplified even more so during the Christmas holiday.
Holly is survived by her two beautiful sons, Zakkary and Barrett Ryser, whom she was extremely proud of; her loving parents, Barry and Linda Barr; sister, Tammy (Rick) Stein; brothers, Stacy (Tina) Barr and Patrick Barr; close cousin, Pam (Richard) Sargent; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; cousin, Phillip Waton; aunt, Anita Waton; and Craig Ryser, the father of her boys.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday March 16th, 2025, from 2-5 PM at White Chapel Funeral Home in Gladstone, Missouri (6600 NE Antioch Rd Gladstone, Missouri 64119). Towards the end of the service, friends and family will have the opportunity to share their favorite memories of Holly.
Holly was taken far too soon but left behind a lasting legacy that will never be forgotten. May her memory continue to bring comfort and inspiration to all who loved her.
In lieu of flowers, a Love Fund has been established to help with the expenses for Barrett and Zakkary. Donations can be made to Community America Credit Union towards Holly’s Memorial Fund/Linda Barr.
