Janet Marie Soliz

Janet was the 4th of 8 children and grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. Redemptorist Church was her parish and grade school. Janet attended Lillis High School and transferred to Hickman Mills High School graduating in 1974. After high school, Janet became a hair stylist. She married and had two children. After becoming a single mom, she reinvented herself and became one of only three female pipe insulators in HFIAW Local 27. This is just one of many examples of Janet’s vivacious personality and ‘can do’ spirit. It was there she met the love of her life, Justin Soliz. Janet and Justin were married on April 16th 1998 and were inseparable.

Janet was preceded in death by her mother Alice McCarthy, father Jack Mitchell, brother Jack Mitchell, and sister Alice Mitchell.

Janet leaves behind her husband Justin Soliz, son John Stoner, daughter Nece Hanks (Dave), grandchildren Lucy Stoner, Carly and Collin Hanks, sisters Mary Pat Maguire (Pete), Denise Mitchell (Robert), Eileen Mitchell, Dolores Haith (Steve), Courtney Elkhatib (Sam), brother Dave Mitchell (Kelly) and over 50 nieces and nephews.

A Visitation for Janet will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, MO 64119.
