Born on September 23, 1956, in Sedalia, Missouri, Jenifer grew up in the Gracemor neighborhood and spent many years living in the Northland. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from William Jewell College and built a successful career as a real estate agent with Reece Nichols. She took great pride in helping families find their perfect homes and enjoyed the relationships she built through her work.
Jenifer had a deep love for music and was an active member of the Symphony Guild. She looked forward to attending Pops Concerts and sponsored numerous symphony events at her home. She also hosted many United Way of Greater Kansas City events at home. A devoted sports fan, she cheered passionately for the Kansas City Royals and Mizzou Tigers football and basketball teams. She was especially passionate for the Royals and attended games through good and not so good years. She fancied herself as a pitching coach often offering her advice from our seats.
Faith played an important role in Jenifer’s life. She was a Sunday School teacher at Gracemor Christian Church before later becoming a member of Platte Woods United Methodist Church. She found joy in serving others and always sought ways to help those around her.
Jenifer loved hosting family and friends, whether at home or at the lake house. She cherished time spent with loved ones and made every gathering special. Her warmth and generosity extended beyond family; she welcomed everyone with open arms and a kind heart.
Her adventurous spirit led her to exciting experiences when she relocated to Crystal River, Florida, for two years and later to Darwin, Australia, for another two years due to her husband Steve’s work. More recently, she enjoyed living on the Plaza in Kansas City.
Jenifer is survived by her husband, Steve Edwards; son, Chris Edwards; sister, Cindy Ashmore; Brother and sister-in-law, Dee and Laura Green; nieces, Lindsay Thomson and Mallory Saito; nephew, Evan Edwards, and Brazilian son Felipe Kieling. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Patricia Green, and her brother, Jeff Green. She maintained many long lasting friendships that she cherished throughout her life.
