Dear Pratt Family,

I wanted to let you know we shared the passing of Joel with our Oak Park Class of 1991 page.

There is so much outpouring of love, and memories shared about Joel of friendships formed so many years ago.

Joel was such a gentle giant and he will be greatly missed.

Please know, on behalf of our class, your family is in our prayers.

I grew up next door to Joel & Tim. Joe & I walked to grade school together, rode the bus to middle school & drove high school together. Joel & I had good times together & got in plenty of trouble together as well, sometimes those were one in the same.

Joel was my best friend in high school. We would drive around and play music trivia games in his car on a nightly basis. He took me to my senior prom when no one had asked me to it. He was my rock at times. He was always so funny and he was an awesome friend. I’m so sorry for your loss.

I remember when Homer and Barbara got Joel. I was a teenager and was so excited to go down and see him. I remember he was such a cute toddler and said big words beyond his age. I did not get to see him as much as an adult, but was glad to reconnect at Homer and Barbara's anniversary celebration last June. We rejoice when we will get to see him again in heaven!

Dear Homer and Barbara, Alex, Jacob and Samantha, Lisa -
I am saddened, and shocked with you. As a mom/grandmom, child losses before us is beyond understanding. I pray you find comforting peace in your happiest memories.
Call or stop by if you need a quiet sharing place.
much love to you all.

You were a god man. A rare type of person that one hardly finds nowadays. Some people let life turn them bitter and selfish but he was one person I have met that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. There are a million more praises I could sing about him but the last one is the love he so obviously had for his daughter. The world has lost a good soul but heaven obviously needed an angel with his skills right now.
Prayers to the family
