Jonathon (Jon) David Caleb Schoenrade

Jonathan (Jon) David Caleb Schoenrade was born January 10, 1989, in Olathe, KS. He was adopted at four days of age and grew up keenly aware of the love of both his birth and adoptive families. He grew up in Independence, MO, and Gladstone, MO, and graduated from Oak Park High School. Jon possessed a deep love for his family, animals of nearly all kinds—in particular his dogs, Beretta and Jack --the wonders of nature, marksmanship of all types, gourmet cooking music, and friends. He often used his considerable mechanical skill to help others. Jon fought his private battles with courage and had a special heart for the downtrodden. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Paul Morphew, and his paternal grandparents, Alfred and Ann Schoenrade. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Schoenrade; sister, Abbey Schoenrade; brother, Matt Schoenrade, all of the home; father, Karl Schoenrade, Independence, Missouri; birthmother, Amy Wilson (James), Kansas City, Kansas; birth sister, Sadi (Nick)Spalding, Kansas City, Kansas; birth sister, Jami Wilson, Kansas City, Kansas; birth brother, Joshua Wilson, Kansas City, Kansas; birth sister, Tara Everhart, Springfield, VA; maternal grandmother, Iris Morphew, West Jefferson, North Carolina; birth grandfather and grandmother, Ed and Sandy Kilby, Asheboro, NC and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and other family members. Friends may call at Antioch Bible Baptist Church, 800 NE 72nd St., Gladstone, MO from 9:30-10:30 am on Wednesday, October 2nd. A memorial service will be held at the church beginning at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations to the City Union Mission, Kansas City, MO.
