

Joe was the beloved husband of the late Sylvia Timothy Pajer. He was the loving father of Julie Dawn Pajer. Joseph was the proud grandfather of Julian Gonzalez (Diana); great grandfather of Kati. He was the brother of Nancy Holtzman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Joseph graduated from Argentine High School in 1951. He met his beautiful wife, Sylvia, at dance class. She was the instructor. They were married for 56 years until her passing in 2010.
Joe came from a long line of meat cutters and worked alongside his Dad for 6 years at Kroger’s. He served in the United States Army, then worked for the Kansas City Star for 18 years as a press foreman. He later worked for Bob’s IGA as the deli manager and spent the rest of his working career in the grocery business.
Joe was an ardent collector of anything Budweiser. He went by the infamous nickname “Bud Man” and also “Beeper”.
Joe was an avid bowler but enjoyed fishing, golf, Royals Baseball and Chiefs Football. He loved entertaining. Joe loved his family, friends, and neighbors deeply and, up until two weeks ago, Joe was hanging out at the bowling alley with his “other family”!
Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Service at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119 on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 12:00 Noon with Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time.
