Karen graduated from Immaculata High School in Leavenworth, KS, in 1960. After graduation, she began working as a secretary at the Veteran's Hospital in Leavenworth. In 1963, she met the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry) Davis, and they married in 1964 at Saint Ignatius Chapel at Ft. Leavenworth. Together, they built a beautiful life and welcomed four children: John in 1965, Susan in 1966, Donny in 1967, and Bobby in 1970. Karen always said her greatest achievement was raising her children, and she poured her heart into being a devoted mother.
Throughout her life, Karen was incredibly social and found joy in bowling, playing cards, and participating in Beta Sigma Phi sorority. As her children grew, she became deeply involved in their activities, leading scouts, serving in the church, and attending countless sporting events. Later, she worked part-time as a secretary and office manager in an optometry office, a career she continued until she and Jerry retired in their late fifties.
Karen became an expert mover as she and Jerry relocated 13 times for his job. She embraced each new place with warmth and learned to make friends quickly, a testament to her outgoing and kind-hearted nature. Her faith, family, and friendships were the most important things in her life, and she nurtured them with unwavering love.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Elva Doebele, her sister, Connie Lord, and her brother, Jim Doebele. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; her sister Rae Ellen Busch (Steve), her children; John Davis (Kimberly), Susan Kramer (Kyle), Donny Davis (Dora), and Robert Davis (Dianne); and her 12 beloved grandchildren: Keagan, Brogan, Regan, Evan, Christopher, Corbin, Paige, Sophia, Olivia, Lydia, Brody, and Tyson. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom she adored.
