Kerri was born in Kansas City on January 24, 1968, to Jerry Albert Kirk and Nancy Jean (Stevens) Kirk.
Kerri graduated from Oak Park High School in 1986. While in high school, she met a tall, dark-haired, hot rod–driving young man who would become the love of her life, Curtis Shaddox. Kerri and Curtis were married on July 9, 1988, and left the church in a horse-drawn carriage.
Kerri worked for Lifetouch as a printer creating yearbooks for schools across the country, retiring after 27 years of service.
She was happiest at home with Curtis and her beloved cats and dogs. She had a deep love for plants and an impressive knowledge of many varieties. Watching Kansas City Chiefs football and NASCAR races were staples in her home.
Kerri was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Nancy Kirk, and her sister, Jerri Jean.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Curtis; her mother-in-law, Lilas Shaddox; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and a host of cherished friends.
Per Kerri’s wishes, no services will be held and flowers are respectfully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Suicide Awareness and Prevention Program, a cause close to Kerri’s heart.
