Leslie was born December 5, 1942 to his parents, Raymond and Margaret Long, then of rural Dwight, Kansas. Leslie was a veteran, having served honorably in the U.S. Navy in the mid 1960’s. Mr. Long was a long time resident of Gladstone where he lived with his wife of 34 years, Joan McKnight Long, until her death on August 18, 2004.
Leslie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Kristina Rae Long (deceased April 7, 1987) and a son, Robert “Bobby” Long (deceased November 17, 2015) and is survived by his older brother, Larry W. Long of Amarillo, TX.
Mr. Long was laid to rest alongside his wife and two children in the Garden of Prayer at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 6600 N. Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119.
