Lettie Steenkamp

She was born in Burgersdorp, South Africa to parents, Piet and Niccie Du Plooy.

She married Andy Steenkamp, the love of her life in 1971. They moved to the USA in 1996. Keeping true to her wedding vows to stay together in sickness and health they shared 51 years of being married.

Lettie is survived by 4 children: Louret & Tony Nevins, of Missouri; Helen & Morné Grobler, of South Africa; Andries & Suzanne Steenkamp, of Missouri and Arné Steenkamp, of Missouri. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Ezelth & Brandon Gattenby of Missouri: Loureshca Liversage, of Missouri and Mia Grobler, of South Africa

A legacy of love as a wife, mother, sister and grandmother is what she leaves behind. She taught each of us how to love and how to fight. She gave us strength and might. A stronger person would be hard to find, in our hearts she will always be kind. Loving and fighting for each one in her special way. Always giving her best as a wife, mother, sister and grandmother; she was like no other.

A Celebration of Life will be held 10 AM Thursday January 26, 2023, at White Chapel Funeral Home (6600 NE Antioch Rd. Gladstone, MO 64119).
