Linda L. (Mann) Haddix, 78, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at 7:34 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2023, at McCrite Plaza surrounded by her family. She is now at home in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born March 18, 1944, in Temple, Texas to Warren and Wilma (Hutchison) Mann, she married Jack Haddix on August 17, 1963, in Kansas City, MO. He preceded her in death June 11, 1999. She is also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marilyn Mann.
Linda grew up in Sunflower, KS before moving to DeSoto, KS where she graduated from Desoto High School in 1962. After high school she entered the work force working in several offices, generally as a receptionist, such as Lincoln Life Insurance, Coca Cola Foods, Walden and Sons, Best Tool and finally retiring from International Code Council in 2010.
She loved her family and devoted herself to them selflessly. Her grandchildren were her great joy, and she spent a lot of time with them making endless grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup and taking them to Chuck E Cheese. She loved trivia, spider solitaire and would play Words with Friends with her grandkids. She was patient, loving and intelligent. She enjoyed researching and doing genealogy.
Linda was a member of Avondale Baptist Church for many years and then attended Solid Rock Bible Church. She worked in the nursery for Sunday service and for the AWANA program, then as a Puggles leader as well. She enjoyed lady's bible study and ladies' late-night programs.
Surviving is her son, Richard (Tammy) Haddix of Platte City, MO and two daughters, Denise (Mark) Johannesman of St. Charles, MO, and Shauna (James) Greener of Kansas City, MO; seven grandchildren, Zachary Haddix, Benjamin Haddix, Emma Johannesman, Anna Johannesman, Molly Greener, Megan (Brian) Ezzell, and James Greener; two brothers, Bob (Barbara) Mann of Shawnee, KS and Ron (Joy) Mann of Lenexa, KS. Sisters-in-law, Gail Cox and Pam Pastelak, Brothers-in-law, Charles (Terri) Haddix and David (Cindy) Haddix. Many nieces and nephews were also loved by Linda.
Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday March 4th, 2023, at Solid Rock Bible Church (formerly Avondale Baptist Church). Visitation will be at 10:00 am and Service at 11:00 am. Please come and help us celebrate this wonderful lady.
