

He was born January 24, 1934, in Brownington, Missouri, the son of John and Bell (Hosterman) Parks. Lowell graduated from Harrisonville High School in Harrisonville, Missouri with the Class of 1952.
Lowell lived in Kansas City most of his life after serving in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955. He married Marilyn Hinken on March 22, 1968, in Kansas City, Missouri. They purchased their first and only house in Kansas City, Missouri.
He worked for TWA Airlines for 32 years and started as a mechanic and was promoted to a Senior Test Equipment Engineer. His family and friends remember him as a quiet spoken man. He was a talented man who could fix just about anything that needed repaired. Lowell was passionate about riding his bicycle with his friends and Marilyn. They rode many miles a week and would drive the car with their bikes and then ride miles away from home.
Lowell and Marilyn were travelers at heart as well. They traveled to many places enjoying trips to overseas and throughout the United States.
He was a member of the Faubion United Methodist Church in Gladstone, Missouri.
Lowell loved helping his close-knit neighbors repairing anything that broke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bell Parks, his sister, Elma Parks Smallwood; and brother-in-law, Bob Smallwood; his sister-in-law, Betty Hinken.
Lowell is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of 58 years, niece, Donna Smallwood Enloe and husband Carl; several cousins, great niece’s and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at White Chapel Cemetery, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119, on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faubion United Methodist Church, 7113 North Troost Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri, 64118.
